After nine years of working together, we founded Tekton out of a mutual admiration for each other's talents and a desire to elevate our craft.
We are partners who support each other through thick and thin, taking immense pride in the work we deliver. We are time-tested, level-headed, and energized by complex building challenges. Above all, we bring a culture of respect and high standards to every job site.

Troy Hubbard
Co-Owner & Lead Carpenter
Northeast Kingdom native, Troy Hubbard, discovered his passion for carpentry at the age of 20. Accepting a job opportunity with SR Builders in St. John, VI, he then expanded upon his trade, honing his skills while being mentored by seasoned builders from around the world, gaining invaluable hands-on experience with a variety of carpentry techniques including fine woodworking, high-end finish work, and high-quality construction on some of the most exclusive properties the Caribbean has to offer. This created a knowledge base for Troy that evolved him into a leader and master carpenter.
With 23 years of experience, Troy’s attention to detail and passion for building are the backbone of Tekton Builders. Troy excels at specialty finishes, fine woodworking, & “built for life” quality construction that stand the test of time.
Kate Jackson
Co-Owner & Project Lead
Construction is part of Kate’s heritage. Daughter of Vermont contractor Russ Laggner, she grew up on active job sites, reading blueprints and learning the world of carpentry and skilled trades from the ground up.
Following in those footsteps, Kate brings lifelong industry expertise, meticulous organization, and clear communication to every project she oversees. As a female business owner and project manager, Kate represents a dynamic leadership presence in the local building landscape.
Kate is known for her calm assurance under pressure and her meticulous eye for quality. A gritty, results-driven professional who loves a challenge, she has earned the unwavering respect of crews, subcontractors, and clients alike through stellar teamwork and exceptionally high standards.
Kate hopes to inspire the next generation of women working in the construction industry.
